Hi Everyone! Welcome back, I hope you all have fun plans for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, it’s going to be cold and rainy here in Montana so I’ll be staying at home and making more of these really adorable Crochet Chicken Drink Coasters. It’s usually pretty nasty where I live over Memorial Day so indoor projects are a must. This Crochet Chicken Drink Coaster is the perfect projects. You can pop on the TV and watch your favorite shows while making these Crochet Chicken Drink Coasters.
Anyway, enough about that! These Crochet Chicken Drink Coasters are simple to make. You can make them with any color of scrap yarn that you have on hand. You’ll need about 15 yards for the main body color and just a scrap amount for the beak, waddle, and comb.
Here’s what you will need for this Crochet Chicken Drink Coaster
Crochet Hook: 3.75 mm crochet hook. I love the crochet hooks with the silicone handles. They are very affordable and comfortable in your hand while crocheting. If you would like to purchase a crochet hook from them you can do so in the highlighted link above.
Yarn: Any #4 worsted weight yarn in the colors of your liking will do I used red heart super saver in the colors soft mink (you will need 1 skein), red (scrap amount), and gold (scrap amount). I feel like their yarn is very consistent and I very rarely have trouble crocheting with it. If you want to use this Crochet Chicken Coaster with cold drinks, I suggest using cotton yarn. You can purchase both types of yarn in the highlighted link above.
Other Supplies: Craft scissors and a yarn needle. I like the smaller craft scissors because they are easy to fit in my crochet hook bag. You can use what ever scissors you have on hand. I also really love metal yarn needles. I feel like they weave through the yarn much easier than the plastic ones.

Now for the Crochet Granny Square Pattern
For the Granny SquareMake 5
Round 1: With your purple yarn, create a MC(magic circle). CH (chain) 2. Place 8 DC (double crochet) in your MC. Pull the tail tight to close up the circle and SLST (slip stitch) to the top of the first DC. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
Round 2: With your pink yarn, attach anywhere on the previous round. CH 3 (remember this counts as your first DC). Next, place 1 DC, CH 1, 2 DC (this creates your first corner) in the CH 3 space. In the next stitch you are going to place 2 DC. For the next stitch place 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC all in the same stitch (this creates your second corner). Now, place 2 DC in the next stitch. In the next stitch we are going to make another corner by placing 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC. Place 2 DC in the next stitch. You now have one more corner left to make. Place 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC in the next stitch. Finally finish off with 2 DC in the last stitch. SLST to the top of the CH 3 at the beginning. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
Round 3: With your orange yarn, attach in a corner CH 1 space. CH 3, place 1 DC, CH 1, 2 DC in the CH 1 space where you just attached your yarn. This creates your first corner. Next, Place 2 DC in the spaces between each of the 2 DC clusters from the previous round. Now, repeat the process of placing *2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC* in the CH 1 spaces of the corners and 2 DC in each space between the double crochet clusters from the previous round. Continue doing this until you come back around to the beginning. SLST to the top of the CH 3. Fasten off your work and weave in your yarn tails.
Round 4: With your Oatmeal color, attach your yarn in a corner space. CH 3. Place 1 DC, CH 1, 2 DC in the CH 3 space. Now continue to place 2 DC in each space between the DC clusters. When you get to your next corner space you will place 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC in the corner space (the CH 1 space). Repeat by placing 2 DC in each space between clusters, when you come to a corner space you will create another corner by placing 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC. SLST to the top of the CH 3 at the beginning and fasten off your work. Make sure you weave in your yarn tails.
Putting The Headband Together
Step 1: Take 2 squares and place them wrong sides facing each other. Attach your yarn through the back loops of the top stitch on each square. CH 1 and place 1 SC (single crochet) in the CH 1 space. Now, continue to SC all the way to the other side stopping after you SC in the corner. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails. Repeat the process until all 5 granny squares are attaches.
Step 2: You have all 5 of your granny squares attaches so, next, you are going to attach the 1st granny square and the 5th granny square together. You will do this exactly like you did when you attached each individual granny square together. DO NOT fasten off your yarn.
For The Boarder
CH 1 and SC in the CH 1 space. Now, place 1 SC in each stitch all the way around the top of the headband. SLST to the top of the first SC. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
Now, attach your yarn anywhere along the bottom of the headband. CH 1 and SC in the CH 1 space. Place 1 SC in each stitch all the way around. SLST to the top of the first SC. Fasten off and weave in your yarn tails.

Yarn: I recommend using red heart super saver in the color purple tones (only because they seem to no longer be making the blue tones) for this Crochet Dog Sweater. You will need 2 skeins of this yarn. You can find this wonderful yarn in the highlighted link above.

Now place 1 DC in the top of the next stitch. Alternate *FPDC, DC* all the way around. SLST to the top of the first DC (your chain 3 at the beginning). Round 10: CH 3. Place 1 DC in each stitch all the way around. SLST to the top of the first DC. At the end of round 10 you should still have a total of 48 stitches.
Round 11: Let’s create the arm holes. CH 3. DC in the next 3 stitches. CH 10, skip the next 8 stitches and DC into the 9th stitch. DC into the next 27 stitches, CH 10, skip 8 stitches and DC into the 9th stitch. Now, place 1 DC in the remaining stitches. SLST to the top of the first DC.
Rounds 12-20: CH 3, place 1 DC in each stitch all the way around. SLST to the top of the first DC. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.

SLST to the top of the CH 3. At the end of round 6 you should have a total of 72 stitches. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
For the Ears (Make 2)
Round 1: Create a MC, CH 2. Place 12 HDC (half double crochet) in the MC. Pull tail tight to close the circle and SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 1 you should have a total of 12 HDC.
Round 2: CH 2, Place 2 HDC in the CH 2 space. Next, place 2 HDC in the following 4 stitches. Now (all in the same stitch) place 1 HDC, 1 DC, 1 TRC, 1 DC, 1 HDC. Next, place 2 HDC in the last remaining stitches. SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 2 you should have a total of 24 stitches. Fasten off and leave a long tail for attaching your ears to the Crochet Cow Pot Holder body.
For the Nose (make 1) with pink yarn
Round 1: Create a MC. Place 6 HDC, 1 DC, 1 TRC, 1 DC, 6HDC, 1 DC, 1 TRC, 1 DC, 6 HDC into the MC. Pull tail tight and close up the circle. SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 1 you should have a total of 24 stitches.
Round 2: CH 2. Place 2 HDC in the CH 2 space. Next, place 2 HDC in each of the following 6 stitches. Now, place 2 DC in the next stitch. Place 2 TRC in the following stitch. Place 2 DC in the next stitch and 2 HDC in each of the next 6 stitches. Repeat by placing 2 DC in the DC stitches from row 1, 2 TRC in the TRC stitches from row 1, and 2 DC in the DC stitches from round 1. Finish by placing 2 HDC in each of the remaining stitches. SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 2 you should have a total of 34 stitches. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Attach your cow nose to the Crochet Cow Pot Holder body. Note: At this point I thread my black yarn and create the nostrils on the nose. I do this by entering the Crochet Cow Pot Holder from the back and leaving a tail. I insert my needle just a few stitches down from the front to the back and tie the two tails in a knot. I then go in and weave in my yarn tails.
Now for the Eyes! (make 2 with your black yarn)
Round 1: Create a MC. Place 8 HDC in the MC. Pull tail tight to close the circle and SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 1 you should have a total of 8 HDC.
Round 2: CH 2. Place 2 HDC in the CH 2 space. Next, place 2 HDC in each stitch all the way around. SLST to the top of the first HDC. At the end of round 2 you should have a total of 16 stitches. Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to attach the eyes to the Crochet Cow Pot Holder body. Note: Repeat the same process for the eyes that you did to create the nostrils, but with your white yarn.
For the Horns (make 2) using your brown yarn or yarn color of your choice
Row 1: CH 6 (leave a yarn tail long enough to attach the horns to the top of your Crochet Cow Pot Holder body). HDC in 2nd CH from the hook. Next, place 1 HDC in each of the remaining stitches. CH 1 and turn your work. At the end of row 1 you should have a total of 5 HDC.
Row 2: Place 1 HDC in the CH 1 space and in each stitch across. CH 1 and turn your work. You should still have a stitch count of 5.
Row 3: HDC2TOG (half double crochet 2 stitches together). Now, place 1 HDC in the next stitch, HDC2TOG the last 2 stitches. You should now have a stitch count of 4. CH 1 and turn your work.
Row 4: HDC2TOG the first 2 stitches. HDC2TOG the last 2 stitches. At the end of row 4 you should have 2 stitches remaining.
Row 5: HDC2TOG the last 2 stitches. Fasten off and weave in your yarn tail (remember not to weave in the yarn tail that you are going to use to attach the horns to the Crochet Cow Pot Holder body).
Putting Everything Together!
First, attach the ears to the Crochet Cow Pot Holder by weaving the yarn tail back and forth along the edge of the body. I placed mine where half of the ear hangs off the pot holder. I only attached the ears along one side. Weave in your yarn tails.
Second, attach the horns to the top of the pot holder with the long yarn tail. I attached my horns along the second row because you will need to leave space for attaching the back piece of the pot holder to the front piece. Weave in your yarn tails.
Third, attach the nose. I just picked a spot on my Crochet Cow Pot Holder that looked the way I wanted it to. I attached it with the yarn tail, weaving back and forth all the way around the edge of the nose. Weave in your last bit of yarn tail.
Finally, attach the eyes just above the nose of the cow in the same fashion as the nose. Weave in your yarn tails.
Details for the Eyes and Nose: With a piece of scrap black yarn, create the nostrils for the cow. I did this by looping my yarn from the back of the body, through the front, and back through the body again. Try and keep the two pieces of black yarn close enough to where you can tie them into a know and then weave in your yarn tails. I did the same thing with the white yarn for the eyes.
Attaching the back of the Crochet Cow Pot Holder body:
Reattach your white yarn to the top of the front piece of the body (along the top edge) and CH 1. SC in the CH 1 space and in each stitch all the way around, making sure to go through the back loop stitch of the front piece of the body and the front loop stitch of the back piece of the body. SLST to the top of the very first SC. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
That’s it! You’ve just created another really cute farm animal pot holder to use in your kitchen. This crochet pot holder is super simple to make and and can easily be worked up while watch TV.

It’s really cold here in Montana today! End of February and the expected high is -12. It’s currently -30 with a windchill of -48 so I’m staying inside! That said, I figured I’d make some cute Crochet Coasters four the house. Holidays are all done and spring is on the way (well for us spring will be here mid June) for many of you. Since we are animal lovers I thought I’d make these adorable Crochet Coasters in the shape of a cat. The fun thing is you can get creative with them and make these Crochet Coasters in any colors that you want. They are the perfect crochet project for using up that scrap yarn.
You won’t need much for this Crochet Coaster project so grab your supplies and let’s get started!
Crochet Hook: 4mm crochet hook. I am obsessed with these crochet hooks that have the silicone handles. I love they way they feel in my hand when crocheting. It’s really nice that I do not have to worry about the hook slipping out of my hand when working on a project. If you are in need of a crochet hook I highly recommend the one highlighted in the link above.
Yarn: Any #4 worsted weight scrap yarn that you have on hand. I used Lily Sugar and Cream in Key Lime Pie. It was just some scrap yarn that I had laying around. I do recommend you using cotton yarn as it will soak up any moisture from your glass easier. You won’t need much maybe 30 yards if that. 1 Skein will probably make 4 of these no problem.
Craft Scissors: I love the smallercraft scissors like the ones in the highlighted link. They are small and fit perfectly in my crochet bag.
Yarn Needle: Any yarn needle will do, just make sure the eyes are large enough for your yarn to fit through. I like the metal ones better than the plastic ones. I feel like they weave through the yarn easier. If you need a set of yarn needles, I highly recommend the ones in the highlighted link.
Special Stitches: TRC (triple crochet): Yarn over your crochet hook 2 times. Insert your hook into the next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over again and pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through 2 last loops. DTRC (double triple crochet): Yarn over your hook 3 times, insert your hook into the next stitch and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through 2 more, yarn over and pull through 2 more loops again, yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops on the hook.

Hi Everyone! I am back with another fun and really cute project. Today we are going to be making a Crochet Granny Square with a daisy flower in the middle. I’ve been wanting to make something that gets me in the mood for spring. It’s almost the middle of February and still looks like the Arctic Tundra where I live in Montana, but I’m in the mood for some spring decor.
This Crochet Granny Square is stylish and simple to make. I’m making mine into a blanket. My plan is to make each row 10 Granny Squares long and possibly 20 rows tall. It really is going to depend on how big I want my Crochet Granny Square blanket to be. That’s why I say the possibilities for this granny square pattern are endless. Mix up the color combinations, make it into a pillow, or even an adorable table runner to set the spring vibe in your home.
Let’s get to work on this Crochet Granny Square
Here’s what you will need if you want to make your Granny Square identical to mine.
Yarn: I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in the colorsPink and Yellow. I also used Lion Brand Ice Cream Big Scoop in the color Mint. If you can’t find them in your local yarn store you can purchase it through the highlighted links above.
Crochet Hook: 3.5 mm crochet hook. Lately I have been obsessed with these crochet hooks with the silicone handles. I absolutely love the way they feel in my hand when I am crocheting. If you are in need of a new crochet hook you can purchase it through the highlighted link above.
Other Supplies: Craft Scissors, I like the small 4.5″ scissors because they easily fit into my crochet bag. You will also need a yarn needle for weaving in your yarn ends. If you are in need of these items you can purchase them in the highlighted links above.
Special Stitch: For the triple crochet cluster stitch: Yarn over your hook 2 times, insert your hook into the next stitch and draw up a loop pulling through the stitch. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook, yarn over again and pull through 2 more loops leaving the last 2 loops on your hook. Repeat for a total of 3 TRC, yarn over and pull through all loops on your hook.
Pattern is written in US Terms. CH 2 does not count as a stitch. CH 3 and CH 4 counts as a stitch.

Crochet Pig Potholder Assembly:
Step 1: Place the two crochet ears in the top corners of the Crochet Pig Potholder. Whip stitch (or what ever stitch you like to use) the two ears in place. Make sure to weave in your yarn tails in the back. Note: Remember that when you are weaving in your yarn ends to go back and forth at least 3 times.
Step 2: Place the snout at the bottom of the Crochet Pig Potholder. I like to line the bottom of the snout up with the top of row 8 (you will be able to see the seam between row 7 and row 8. Using the same stitch attach the snout to the potholder.
Step 3: Place the two eyes just above the snout. Attach the same way you did the ears and the snout.
Step 4: With black yarn, make the two nostrils on the snout. Starting from the back insert your yarn needle through the nostril. Make a line straight down, inserting your yarn needle through the front of the snout to the back. Go over the line you just created at least 3 times. This will make the nostrils stand out more. Clip your yarn and tie the two black tails in a knot. Weave in your yarn ends.
Step 5: With your light pink yarn, repeat the process in step 4 for the lines in the eyes.
Step 6: Now, grab your two pig bodies. Place the bottom piece right side facing down. Place the top piece with the face looking toward you on top of the bottom piece. Grab your dark pink yarn and your crochet hook. Attach the pink yarn to the top of the tow pieces of the potholder (make sure you go through both sets of stitches. CH 1, SC over the top of your yarn tail in each stitch all the way around to the beginning. SLST to the top of the first SC. Fasten off and weave in your yarn tail.
