Beginners Crochet Scarf Tutorial

Round 1: CH (chain) 102, SC (single crochet) in the 2nd CH from the hook, continue to SC in each stitch all the way to the end. Without twisting your chain SLST (slip stitch) to the top of the first SC. CH 1. At the end of round 1 you should have 101 stitches. Note: If you are having a hard time seeing where you placed your beginning CH 1 you can use a stitch marker. Just place the stitch marker in the SC that you place in the CH 1 space. It really does help for beginner crocheters.

Round 2: BLO (back loop only) SC in the CH 1 space. Continue to BLO SC in each stitch all the way around to the end. CH 1. At the end of round 2 you should still have a total of 101 stitches.

Rounds 3-11: Repeat round 2. At the end of round 11 fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails. Note: Remember when weaving in your yarn tail to go back and forth a minimum of 3 times. That way your yarn does not come undone in the wash. At the end of each round you should still have a total of 101 stitches.
