Hello everyone! I hope you all are having an amazing day! Today’s blog brings you a super simple but super cute gift idea. These Crochet Face Scrubbies and Crochet Washcloths work up quickly and can be given as a gift anytime of the year. The Crochet Face Scrubby and Crochet Washcloth are made with 100% cotton yarn so they are super soft and extremely durable. Put them next to the bathroom sink in a cute glass jar or a dish and toss them in the wash when you are done.
I know that Christmas is coming up (next week in fact) and if you are like me, some of you struggle with gifting. I decided this year I would make these super simple Crochet Face Scrubbies and Crochet Washcloths as gifts.
Now let’s grab our supplies and get started on this fun Crochet Pattern!
Yarn: I used I love this cotton yarn in the color turquoise. I love the color Turquoise so that’s what I decided to use. If you can’t find it in stores you can purchase it in the highlighted link above. You will need 1 skein. You should be able to get 2 Crochet Washcloths and 7 Face Scrubbies out of 1 skein of this yarn.
Crochet Hook: 5.5mm crochet hook. I love these hooks by Furls Crochet. If you can’t find them in stores you can purchase one through the highlighted link above.
Other Supplies: You will also need a pair of craft scissors and a yarn needle. You can purchase both in the highlighted links above.
Abbreviations: CH (chain), DC (double crochet), HDC (half double crochet), SC (single crochet), SLST (slip stitch).
Project level: Beginner. Written in US terms.

Round 1: Make a magic circle. Chain 2, next place 10 DC (double crochet) in the magic circle. Pull your yarn tail tight to close the center. SLST (slip stitch) to the top of the first DC. At the end of round 1 you should have a total of 10 Double Crochet Stitches.
Round 2: Chain 2. Place 2 DC in the CH (chain) 2 space. Next, place 2 DC in each stitch all the way around. SLST to the top of the very first DC. At the end of round 2 you should have a total of 20 stitches.
Round 3: CH 2. Place 2 DC in the CH 2 space. Place 1 DC in the next stitch. Repeat the pattern of *2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC in the next stitch* all the way around. SLST to the top of the first DC. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your ends. At the end of round 3 you should have a total of 30 stitches.
Make as many Crochet Face Scrubbies as you want. Put them in a cute glass jar with a lid and tie with a bow. It’s the perfect gift!

Row 1: CH 31. In the 2nd chain from the hook place 1 HDC (half double crochet). Now, place 1 HDC in each stitch all the way to the end. CH 1 and turn your work. At the end of row 1 you should have a total of 30 stitches.
Rows 2-20: Repeat row 1. CH 1, do not turn your work at the end of row 20.
For the Boarder:
Round 1: Place 1 SC in each opening along the side of the Crochet Washcloth. When you come to the corner space, place 3 SC in the corner stitch. Next, place 1 SC in each stitch along the top of the Crochet Washcloth. When you come up to the next corer you will place 3 SC in the corner stitch. Repeat the steps along the bottom and up the other side of the Crochet Washcloth. In the very last corner (where you did your chain 1) place 3 SC. SLST into the next stitch, and SLST into the next stitch after that. This will even out the boarder. Fasten off your yarn and weave in your yarn tails.
Note: If you want your boarder a little bigger just continue to SC in each stitch across, placing 3 SC in the corner spaces. Do this until your desired width.
