Like I said in my last blog post, I love fall! These two crochet drink cozy’s are just adorable. In this blog post you are getting two different free crochet drink cozy patterns. They can be used for cold drinks or even hot drinks. They are also the perfect to carry around in your purse for the next time you stop by and grab a coffee. Why not be stylish while carrying around your Starbucks coffee or tea.
Super easy to make, you will complete these cozy’s in a few short hours. These Crochet Drink Cozy’s would make great gifts around the office, at closings, or even as a just because gift. They especially pair well with my Crochet Pumpkin Coasters. This a great project to work through that scrap yarn you have left over after every project. Don’t have orange? That’s okay, make them in any color variation that you want. After all, who said that pumpkins have to be orange.

Yarn Needle: Any yarn needle with an eye big enough to fit your worsted weight yarn through.
Craft Scissors: Any craft scissors will work. I like the smaller ones that fit in my crochet hook bag. You can purchase them in the link below. I really enjoy the style of these as they fit my hands perfectly.

Puffy Pumpkin Coffee Cozy
As promised, here is my YouTube tutorial for this puffy pumpkin coffee cozy!
Round 1: Chain 25, DC (double crochet) in second chain from your hook. DC in each stitch all the way to the end. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the first double crochet. Chain 1 and turn your work. You should have a total of 24 stitches.
Round 2: FPDC (front post double crochet), BPDC (back post double crochet) all the way around to the end. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the first FPDC. You should still have a total of 24 stitches. Learn how to create a FPDC and BPDC here.
Rounds 3-8: Repeat round 2. You should still have a total of 24 stitches. At the end of round 8 change to your green yarn. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Round 9: Working over your green and orange yarn tails, HDC (half double crochet) in the same stitch as your chain 1 and in every stitch all the way around to the end. Join with a slip stitch to the top of your first HDC. Finish off and weave in your ends. You should have a total of 24 stitches.
For the Leaf:
With your green yarn, chain 8, DC (double crochet) in the 3rd stitch from your hook, DC in the next 2 stitches, HDC in the next 2 stitches, SC in the next stitch, 2 SLST in the last stitch (you are now turned and working around the other side of the leaf), SC in next stitch, HDC in next 2 stitches, DC in the next 2 stitches, SLST to the top of the first DC. That’s it, your cute little leaf is complete. Now finish off and leave a tail long enough to sew on your leaf.
For the Stem:
Using your brown yarn, Chain 5, HDC in 2nd chain from the hook. HDC in each stitch to the end. Finish off and leave a long enough tail to sew on your stem.
Attaching your Leaf and Stem: With your yarn needle, place your stem where you would like it to be on the cozy. This is completely up to you. Thread your yarn needle and attach the stem via whip stitch to the body of the cozy, making sure to finish with the needle on the inside of the cozy, weave in your ends. Now, do the same thing with your leaf. I layered my leaf on top of my stem at an angle and it turned out really cute.

Now onto the next Drink Cozy!

Row 2: SCDEC (single crochet decrease) two times. Chain 1 and turn your work. Learn how to do a SCDEC here.
Row 3: SCDEC once. This will create the point of the eyes and nose. Finish off your work leaving a tail long enough to sew on the eyes and nose.
Sewing on the Eyes and Nose: Threading the yarn tail from the eyes and nose place them on your cozy where you would like. Sew them on using a whip stitch. That’s it. Super simple, now weave your ends into the back of the cozy.
Making the Mouth: Take a long piece of black yarn and thread it through your needle. Pick a starting point and make the mouth any shape you’d like. I gave mine a half crooked smile. Back stitch piece by piece to the the shape and thickness you want.
Turn over and sew on the buttons: Place the buttons in the back where they line up with the crochet button holes you created. Take your yarn needle and a small piece of black or orange yarn and attach the buttons to the back side of the cozy.
